Our best primary games for vocabulary, word families, rhyming, and spelling
Come prepared to play hands-on literacy games that are perfect for your literacy centers or whole class instruction. Activities can also be played in a home setting if you are still teaching virtually in the new school year. Games integrate the use of literacy dice, letter tiles and word decks. The activities will help your students practice the following concepts: learning the alphabet and its sounds, rhyme, word families, vocabulary development, spelling simple CVC to double syllable words, word play for synonyms, antonyms and more. Participants will receive an extensive PDF handout with gameboards, a pdf of the letter tiles for student use at home, ideas for literacy journals and assessment. The activities are great for regular, resource and ESL programs. If you have participated in our hands-on math game workshops, our literacy are also game based, and rooted in hands-on engaged practice that will support all literacy programs.
